Work update

So the London paintings for Highgate will be sent on monday. The pv is Wednesday nd after that I want to continue with some more spaces

Another watercolour and I'm not so sure about this one. It might have something this do with the frontality of the image and the colouration of the painting. Ive done some more work on the cheapside painting which is coming on. Not sure if i like it. I think it's one of those paintings that need to be made and whether it makes it out of the studio is another thing.

Wading through

Every day it seems like I am learning to paint trying to work out just how to make these images have vitality and visual excitement. Ive been painting every day and have made a few steps in the right direction and as soon as I am thinking that I am getting somewhere I do something else that disproves that

Ongoing process

So how long have I been thinking about these paintings mulling over on my mind how I might start I. Thinking how i might adopt a new working for this show at Highgate.

I wanted too start this new body of work in the summer but ended up becoming sidetracked with try more nudes and having to cover up my tracks with the Saatchi commission.
And so now the work begins in haste with that slight air of panic. Suddenly there seems to be no more time to vasilate and instead I need to get busy with the painting.

So I decided this go over some of the inused paintings from northcote and work more images over the top.
Im still not fully convinced I have a real handle on oil. I do Feel better smoky this painting now that I have re glazed and stated the establish some of the drawing. There is a sense that it is not a dead thing but something with life.

Im still thinking so much about brushes and what would the best to use. Im convinced that hogs are wrong and that i seem to have much more control with synthetics.
